"I was born in Atalissa, Iowa and lived at Atalissa, Hills,
and on a farm southwest of Iowa City until around age 11 when we
moved to our home on Prairie du Chien Road in Iowa City."
"I attended grade school and high school at St.
Mary's School in Iowa City, graduating in 1951. From 1947 to 1954
I played the organ at St. Mary's Church."
"After graduating I began working as a nurse's
aide at Mercy Hospital in the nursery. I took classes at the Iowa
City Commercial College in typing and bookkeeping and began working
at Eicher Florist in 1952 as a bookkeeper."
"On Oct. 10, 1953 I married Glenn Kasper, who
farmed near Tiffin, Iowa with his father. Glenn was drafted into
the Army in October 1954 and I went with him in January 1955 to
Fort Smith, Ark., and then on to Mineral Wells, Texas, where we
stayed for the remainder of his two years in the service."
"Upon reurning from Texas I worked for part-time
at Eicher's until I quit to help Glenn on the farm. In 1974 I began
working at the University Athletic Club as a bookkeeper and in 1977
was promoted to office manager, a position I still hold."
