"I was born in Muscatine, Iowa. I started school in Hills, Iowa and then attended St. Mary's High School in Iowa City and graduated in 1950. I began working for our neighbor Nicholas Yoder in that year doing carpentry work."

"In 1952 I began working at the Iowa City branch of Cedar Rapids Coca Cola Co. In 1956 I met and married (on March l0th) Marilyn Nagel. I became branch manager at Iowa City and in 1965 I was promoted to general sales manager in Cedar Rapids."

"In 1968 the University of Iowa campus vending operations were established and I became manager, and am presently employed in that position."
