"I was born near West Liberty, Iowa My family and I moved to Nebraska when I was 2 years old. We lived there for 8 years. We then moved to North Dakota and then Missouri, where I finished my grade school."

"Three years later we left for Iowa, living first on a farm near Wilton, then Muscatine Island, Atalissa, and then Hills, Iowa in March of 1935. I always stayed at home with the folks. Then I met Lyle Frantz near Hills, and we were married Feb. 3, 1938."

" Our middle son Robert, at the age of 5, was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. We cared for him for 21 years, until he passed away on Feb. 6, 1968."
