"I was born in West Liberty, Iowa I moved with my parents to
Greeley, Neb., Blabon, N.D., Page, N.D., and Brinktown, Mo. When
I graduated from the 8th grade in 1929, there was no money to send
us older ones to high school."
"In 1930, we moved back to Iowa, near Muscatine.
We then moved to Muscatine Island, Atalissa and then to a farm near
Hills, Iowa. In 1933 I left home to work for a lady in Muscatine
and was with her until 1937."
"Nov. 9, 1937, I married Carl Miller at St. Joseph's
Church, Hills, Iowa. On Nov. 19, 1944, we adopted a beautiful, sweet
baby, born May 1, 1944. We named him Charles William. We lived on
his father's farm near Eliza, Ill. Then in 1943 we moved to a farm
near Iowa City. Carl became a general contractor and built many
houses and apartments."
"In 1971 we built a duplex on Davis Street, his
last project, and we moved into one side. He then sold real estate
until 1977 when Carl retired and we moved to New Port Ritchey, Fla.
We became Florida residents, but came back for 3 months in the summer
to visit our relatives."
