Hi everyone,

As many of you know, the Milder family donated over $2,000 for a memorial at the cemetery where Sister Margaretta is buried. Sister passed away in September 1997 and is buried at the new "Gate of Heaven" cemetery in La Crosse, WI.

The monument that was selected is finally finished and is made of black granite. It is just beautiful. Leonard and Marilyn took Louise and I to the dedication service that was held on Memorial Day, May 27^th. I am enclosing a copy of the pictures I took that day. It was a very nice ceremony and we were treated royally. You would have thought that we had paid for the whole think the way we were treated. We were even thanked by the young man that designed it as he and his parents were there also. So many of the Sisters had to shake our hands and thank us. Then we were asked to come back to the convent for supper. I’m quite sure the cost was really a lot more than we donated. In the program they thanked everyone for bringing the project to completion and it read "The Milder Family who gave a donation in memory of Sister Margaretta Milder for the monument". There was not a sign or anything on the monument that stated such as we had originally thought but it would not have looked right and we don’t need that. WE know we donated and they know we donated and that is all that matters as far as we’re concerned.

I’m passing this information to you, as I know many of you have been interested and asked about it.

Thanks again to everyone who donated. I’m sure Mom & Pop (Grandma & Grandpa) would be proud of their family.
