TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 1952 We all went to Mass & Holy Communion as usual - then I did the washing - worked quite late at it but nice weather so I washed little comforters. Lillian hung out part of the clothes for me - Dad busy all day trying to get the tires for the tractor - Ben, Gene & Richard went out to Carls & got the iron.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 1952 We all went to mass - Pat came home at noon. Dad still trying to get tires on the tractor, got the rims made - one tire he bought was no good so still he didn't get tractor home - Pat & I went to church, Novena this P.M. - Kept Bens children in eve while they went - Gene went to practice -Pat to class - then Pat & Len went to hospital tour with J. Farm Bureau.
THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 1952 We all went to Mass. Dad went downtown with Leonard when Len went to work to see about getting the tires mounted on the tractor. I baked cupcakes - wrote letters to Bro. John, Myrtle & Aunt Anna. I ironed in the P.M. & eve mended stockings after supper. Eds stopped in on way home from Swisher hauling a load of wire etc - Pauls here in eve. Pat & Len to C.Y.O. meeting. Got tractor home before noon, disked in P.M.
FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1952 We all went to Mass, High Mass in honor of Our Mother of Sorrows. I wrote letter to Larry - Dad & Mickey sowing oats & alfalfa - I finished the ironing - We went to Devotions, Pat stayed home with Bens, Eds & Pauls children. Gene went to bball practice.
SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 1952 We all went to Mass - Ben went to Carls again today to work. I mopped floors in a.m. - in P.M. Len & I got groceries. I went to Brinstons & got my hair fixed, then made cake & rolls after I got home & worked quite late & made my Holy Hour. Gene took Lillian downtown in a.m.
SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 1952 Len went to Davenport - Women's Sunday, Palm Sunday & our 42nd wedding anniversary. Dad & I & Moe went to 7:30 Mass -Pat, Len & Gene went to 9:00 C.Y.O. Communion Sunday - then Dad & I & Moe went to 10:15 Mass which we had offered in honor of the Sacred Heart, then went to Eliz. Pat & Gene came down to church & went with us - we were surprised with a good dinner. Eds, Pauls, Bens, Geralds, Louises, Wilmas all came, 45 in all - In P.M. went to the Stations in Hills.
MONDAY, APRIL 7, 1952 We all went to 7:30 Mass, High Mass this morn - Ben brought Joann & the children over when he went to work. Dad took Joann & Lillian downtown - Joann took her writing test & got her drivers permit - also got her Easter dress - I got all the clothes washed, Joann hung them all out for me, they were here for supper - Lyles came in eve - Pat gave them lots of her clothes.
TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1952 We all went to Mass - Dad finished the sod plowing - I wrote letters to Mrs. Wodahodsky & Lischwer but missed the mailman as per usual - I ironed some in the P.M. - then after school we planted some early garden, real nice outside but some windy - Dad also plowed Engels garden this P.M. - the men helped Ben cut down trees - Pauls took Pat out to Oakdale to practice on the organ.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 1952 We all went to Mass - after dishes I wrote letters trying to get Easter mail off today, cards to Bens, Bessies, Harolds, letters to Minnie, Gertrude, Sister M & Brother John. Dad plowed Mullherins ground. Pat came home for dinner, then we went down for Novena - I got to confession, damp cold eve -Bens didn't get out for Novena.
THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 1952 Holy Thursday - Dad & I & Gene, Ronny, Tommy, went to Mass -Gene served, also led the procession - Dad & I & Pat & Len went down at 7:00 to receive Holy Communion - then Pat & Len went to work - as Mass was at 8:30. I got dinner & started getting apples ready for pie - made 9 apple pies, 2 raisin -to put some in deep freeze. Bens came early as Ben took Joann out for driving lesson, children all are in eve. with Pat & Len. Gene went to 7:30 to 8:30 Holy Hour with Dad & I & Ben & Joann, then from 10 to 11 Dad & I, Len & Pat, Ben & Joann went together, also Paul & Lillian went too.
FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 1952 Good Friday - We went to 8:30 Mass of the Pre Sanctified -Gene serving again, it was all very nice - Pat & Len went to work again, then Dad.& Gene help clean up over at Pauls - I worked around, got our dinner - then went down to church from about 12:45 until 3:00 P.M. service - Dad came then, afterward we got our groceries - I made a good supper. Moe came home. Gene kept Pauls & Bens children in eve. Men got the manure hauled out. In eve we went to Stations, Dad to confession.
SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 1952 Holy Saturday - Gene went in early for to serve Mass - Dad & I, Moe & Leonard went early for the 7:45 Mass. I had a busy long day. Bens & Gert, Nick & Jimmy here for dinner, waffles & sausage & pie - long job of serving - I worked late in eve - Bens went to the drive-in - left Stevie & Benny here. Pat had to work to about 10:00 P.M. tonight.
SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 1952 Easter Sunday - Pat had to play Mass at Oakdale - so had to be down at 6:00 A.M. Len & Moe took her & went to 6:00 Mass at St. Marys - Bens & Pauls also went. Dad & I & Gene went to 7:30. Pat gave me a lovely corsage of 5 yellow rosebuds so I wore it & my new hat - Bens came over, they went with Moe & Len to Eds - Dad & I & Gene - took Benny, Louise & Charles with us to Eds, had a very nice time, 42 of us there. Rainy, damp day, Pat had to work in the a.m. Pat spent the day at Kleins - We brought Ben home with us.
MONDAY, APRIL 14, 1952 We went to Mass - Leonard started to work early - I washed later in the day - got most of them dry - Dad worked on fence, very tired, but we went over to the Vets' Hospital to see Bernie Wieskamp - Bens here for a while in the eve - Pat went to a show with Ronny Loan.
TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 1952 Another nice day - we went to Mass - stopped with the cream - I cleaned up the house some - then raked in the flower garden in the P.M. - got early supper. Dad still very tired from fence making - the kids worked in the yard this eve -burned up a lot of trash - Ben went to see Bernie. Len went to C.R. this P.M. to see about a job at Collins.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16, 1952 We went to Mass, I did up the morning work, wrote cards to Myrtle & Wilma and then raked out by the flower garden. After dinner, I ironed & trimmed wallpaper border for Louise - after supper Bens came, watched television & the prize fight. Leonard out - Pat home - Gene to bball practice. Bens & Pauls planted potatoes this eve -
THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 1952 We went to Mass as usual - I wrote to Bro. John - Dad busy so couldn't go to Novena in afternoon. Got fruit salad ready to take to Louises. Joann went out for her drivers lesson - Went to Novena, took Pat along down, then she went to C.Y.O. - Went shopping at store & show.
FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 1952 We went to Mass - then after breakfast Louise came & Dad & I - Lillian & 3 little ones went with her out to their farm & helped paper - I sure was tired - Lyles were up for a while.
SATURDAY. APRIL 19, 1952 We went to Mass as usual. Len worked a while this a.m. Dad took Joann & Lillian downtown this morning. Joann got Stevies picture taken - as Ben was working at Carls - I was awfully tired today - hard to get my work done - Joann mopped the floor for me, then washed their car - They went to a show this eve, left Stevie here.
SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 1952 We all got to Mass as usual - were home for dinner. In the P.M. we went to West Liberty, seen Harry & talked to Father Barnes about the Perpetual Care of the cemetery lot & then went on down to Annes to tell her about it & had a nice visit there. Ben & Joann out riding to Geralds & then to Carl & Louises farm.
MONDAY, APRIL 21, 1952 We went to Mass - sort of a drizzly day - so we didn't wash - Joann came over & went with Dad & I to Cedar Rapids. We seen about the table top & they promised us a new top - I also got a new coat & 4 rose bushes - Bens here for supper, went to see Bernie & Aunt Frances in the evening. Ben took his car to have it fixed.

MONDAY, MAY 12, 1952 We went to Mass - Pat stayed home until after noon today -Dad & I worked in the A.M. I came in to get the dinner about 10:00 a.m. then Lyles came - I kept the children while Libb went to the Dr. they all stayed for dinner. Bens came back from Mo about 2:00 P.M. had dinner & supper here - We planted more garden, lima beans turnips, beets, lettuce, radish, cucumber etc. Pat & Gene went to CYO skating party.
TUESDAY, MAY 13, 1952 We all went to Mass - I went out to work in the garden right after breakfast, working down the clods in the perennial flower garden - getting ready to plant - Ben back at work today, taking the pick-up. Dad went downtown to see about getting the car for Ben - they came over in eve - We set out tomatoes, celery & eggplant - Gene went early to the Junior Senior dinner & prom.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 1952 We went to Mass as usual - Gene stayed home - as he was excused from school today on account of the Junior Senior prom of last night. Pretty good weather today, just a little chilly & a few sprinkles - I worked outside about all day - planted seed in perennial bed - also planted zinnias, rose moss - nast ?? & glads. Went to see Bernie Wieskamp this eve -
THURSDAY, MAY 15, 1952 We went to Mass - I wrote letters to Sister & Bro - missed the m man so had Leonard mail them for me - I washed in the P.M. & worked late - Dad & I went to Novena - Lyles came out for a little visit, brought dahlia bulbs. Joann & children walked over this P.M. - went home with Ben.
FRIDAY, MAY 16, 1952 We went to Mass as usual - Rainy morn, we went downtown, bought our plastic for cupboard top & sink rim - In the P.M. I ironed, also more in eve & got it finished = Ed came after Richard. Pat & Gene went to Red Carnival - took Dolores Dohres?
SATURDAY, MAY 17, 1952 We went to Mass - and I had a busy day, cleaning & cooking, was very tired today but got through. Mended my hose in eve - Bens here for dinner & supper. Pat went with Billy Ball to Ice Show.
SUNDAY, MAY 18, 1952 Dad & I - Maurice, Ronny & Tommy went to 7:30 Mass - Len also went but he took Carol. Pat & Gene went to 9:00. We had a good chicken dinner - In P.M. I went to music recital of Joanie Knoedal - Mary Jo Ponce - & Gene sang with high school - Dad & Ben & all the children but Mickey took Joann & Pat down to Hills for practice for Confirmation - in eve Pat & Gene went to skate - Bens went to drive in - took Pauls 4 kids.
MONDAY, MAY 19, 1952 Dad planted first corn - awfully chilly - Went to Mass then hurried home to get ready to go to the Junior Senior picnic at Burlington. Gene took Len's car - I went with him. We also had Mary Rocca - Bob Rogers, Hedges & Mary Bryans girls, had a nice time , got back in time to go to the Confirmation at Hills - Ben took all their children & kept them at Lyles. Dad & I attended the services - Pat was sponsor for Carol, Mary for Rose Ann, Joann for Marilyn. They gave the girls ? & sterling silver identification bracelet - with their name on it, also St. Christopher medal. Afterwards Clarences & Eds & all of us went to Lyles for ice cream and cake.
TUESDAY, MAY 20, 1952 A fairly good day - I washed & got all through right after noon - got all dry but a few overalls & jackets - In the P.M. we got things ready for supper and worked out in garden & got the boys to dig holes for my dahlias - and I worked outside after supper until 8:30 planting them. Dad planted 2nd field of corn today, our alfalfa ground -
WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 1952 We went to Mass - it rained a little in the morning so scared us out of going to Louises as we planned - then Charles was sick, Dad went over & took them to the Dr. & then they came out for dinner & we went out to their farm early in P.M. Lillian & 3 little ones went along. We only worked around a hrs - and it started to rain again so we came right back as Louise didn't want to drive in mud. I got my ironing finished in eve - then mopped floor -
THURSDAY, MAY 22, 1952 Ascension Day - Leonard went to 6:00 Mass & took Carol - Pat - Gene & Dick went with Pauls & Mrs. Mulherin came home with them - Dad & I went to 8:00 Mass & took Ronny & Tommy, Marilyn & Roger Mulherin with us. It was a rainy-morning & cloudy day but went with Pat & Len to C.Y.O. Holy Hour in eve. Pat played - was all very nice -had quite a hard storm, lots of rain, lightning, hail, thunder tonight from 9:00 on - I am ? & worried.
FRIDAY, MAY 23, 1952 We went to Mass as usual. Len went to work - then came home as there wasn't anything he could do today - so he helped Dad move the brooder house over to Bens - I worked around, was busy - Bens came over for a while in the eve - also Lyles & then Eds came after Richard. Maurice came home. Ben got piston for car but it wouldn't fit.
SATURDAY, MAY 24, 1952 Carl & Louise moved. We went to Mass, Maurice too - Pat had to go to work at 7:00 so rode along with - Pauls & Bens came over - left baby at Lillians & Dad & I - Ben & Joann went downtown for groceries & repairs for his car & had dinner, started so got it & then Dad & I - Ben Joann, Benny & Stevie went looking for chickens, went to W. Branch - then Ia. City - then Cedar Rapids - then Marion, then back to Cedar Rapids & got 100 mixed cockerals for us, 50 hampshires for them, got them in brooder house. Ben & Joann & boys & Gene went to drive-in, Dad & I went to confession.
SUNDAY, MAY 25, 1952 Dad & I & Maurice, little boys, went to 7:30 Mass - Pat & Gene to 9:00. Maurice & Ben went down to Eds fishing, got 4 nice ones - We got Joann & boys over for dinner. Dad hauled some lumber for Carl in forenoon - In the P.M. Dad & I -Joann & children went out to Louise & Carls home, had supper. Ben finished fixing his car & they went home in it. Kept Connie, Billy & Tony while I went to graduation. Pat & Len & Gene went.
MONDAY, MAY 26, 1952 We went to Mass - a pretty nice day - I worked out in the garden hoeing all day & got quite a lot done - Gene cultivated in the eve after school - Dad worked hard disking, harrowing & planted corn & got finished late, about 7:00 P.M. I worked in the garden in the eve.
TUESDAY, MAY 27, 1952 Went to Mass - school children also went but came home for breakfast - then back again at 10:00 A.M. Katherine & Phyllis went along for the picnic, rained some around noon & after -worked all morning in the garden & we set out cabbage after dinner - then I did the washing - hung the line full, then mopped kitchen & bath, done about 9:30. Pat & Joanie went out with Bob & Don from Kalona. Dad planted pumpkins.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 1952 We went to Mass - school children too - but home again for breakfast & back at 10:00 as yesterday - I got a good dinner - worked outside awhile before noon - then after dinner dishes - I went out & worked out all P.M. putting the house plants out - planting the window box etc - etc - Pat home for dinner & then to school - then home & cleaned bathroom & washed some woodwork. Eds - Lyles & Pauls here in eve. Eds
THURSDAY, MAY 29, 1952 We went to Mass - after breakfast Lillian came over & helped me clean up the house, getting ready for company tonight -when Richard graduates from 8th grade. Eds came in the P.M. - Ed went with Dad & I over to W. Liberty to take flowers to both the cemeteries - after supper we went to Novena & graduation.
FRIDAY, MAY 30, 1952 We went to Mass - Leonard too - sort of sprinkly, rainy morning but turned out pretty good - I hoed the glads in forenoon - got good dinner & supper. Ben & family here for both meals & Joann helped me iron & I got it all done -mended sox in eve - Pauls went to Eds for the day.
SUNDAY, JUNE 1, 1952 Leonard went to 6:00 Mass then Gordon came out & they had breakfast here, then went on their picnic with Carol & Mary - Bens went to Lyles for dinner - Gerald & Pauline were out for a visit this morn & Carls for a while around noon - In the eve, Clarences and Bens were here for a while.
MONDAY, JUNE 2, 1952 We went to Mass - a pretty nice day - Dad got Joann and took her downtown to take her drivers test - she passed - I hoed in the garden all forenoon - in the P.M. Joann & I cut over my gray dress. Maurice came home for supper & brought his laundry.
TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 1952 It rained a little last eve - I washed today, had a very, very large one - got done in fairly good time - Pat & Gene went skating - Dad & I went over to Pauls a while -
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 1952 We went to Mass, rained a little this morn - We took most of the clothes down, then I got Dad to help me some & we made soap using 14 cans of lye: I don't think I will ever make anymore - but it got pretty good. Pauls & Bens & Dad & I hoed & plowed potatoes at Mulherins.
THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 1952 We went to Mass, also Ronny & Tommy - clothes sort of damp so we hung them up before going to Mass - pretty hot today -but I hoed in the garden - and did some ironing. Dad & I went to Novena, then saw the prize fight - Pappy beat Ezzard Charles. Pauls & Lyles here to see fight. Gene worked - 12 hrs. today. Joanie here for supper, then went skating at W. Lib.
FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 1952 We went to Mass, also Ronny & Tommy as its First Friday. Dad & I worked out in the garden, it was real hot - so couldn't get too much done - got ready to plant beans - In the P.M. I ironed, in the eve Pat was home & we set out plants. Lyles were up - We decided to start Novena to St. Walburger ? for Bobby - tomorrow.
SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 1952 We all went to Mass, that is Dad & I & Pat. Pat didn't feel very good so didn't go to work - cold & sore throat - but she did work around some & got her clothes ironed - It was a long hard day for me - I still had ironing to finish besides cleaning floors etc. etc. Dad & I went to confession & to grocery store in eve.
SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 1952 Men's Sunday - We all went to Mass of course. Dad & I & Moe to 7:30. Pat & Gene to 9:00, also Len & he took Carol - he was also at her place where she works for breakfast. Nicholas' came for 10:15 Mass, then Gert went to nurses alumni banquet at Memorial Union, they were here for supper. Clarences & Pauls here in eve, also Bens for a little while.
MONDAY, JUNE 9, 1952 We went to Mass - I wrote letter to Verna, then I did the washing, not too big not too small - a good drying day - I got them all down & folded & dampened - Eds were here for a visit in the eve - kept Pauls children, then I mended stockings until quite late - got to bed about 12:10.
TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 1952 We went to Mass. I got up early, 5:30, to call Gene, then started ironing at 5:40. After Mass I did up the work & got started ironing again about 9:15. Kept Bens children, also Pauls children - had all of them for dinner - Lillian took her drivers test & passed. Sold 12 head of our cattle - Pat played for funeral at St. Wenselaus. Gene got chauffeurs license.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 1952 We went to Mass as usual - After breakfast we started to hoe - that is Dad & I & hoed mostly all day - and got over the garden pretty well - also set out cabbage & tomato plants - Ben & Joanns company came - her brother Paul, his girl friend & parents from Michigan - he stayed all night there, the others went to hotel -
THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 1952 We went to Mass - after breakfast Dad & I went downtown & shopped. I got my new house coat & a blanket to take along to the retreat - busy today trying to get things started to packing - Pat pressed dresses for me - then went to CYO meeting - then later she & Gene went down & got ice cream & root beer. Pauls over in eve.
FRIDAY, JUNE 13, 1952 Hoed in the garden & got lettuce in, also Gene's breakfast & lunch, went to Mass, then home & after breakfast & dishes went back downtown to get my hair done at 9:30. Home again, got dinner & after the dishes got ready to go to the retreat - Dad took me down to Helen Maddens & we waited for Mrs. Mahan until about 2:30, we rode with her to the retreat, also the 2 Miss Moellers, storm came up so stopped at Durant for a while - arrived Marycrest about 5:00. A nice supper - first conference at 8:00, to bed about 10:00.
SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 1952 Up about 6:30, had plenty of time to get ready for the 7:30 Mass, good breakfast at 8:15. Very good talks by Father Welch all day - after supper visiting & meeting good talk in eve on priests & church - Went to confession -
SUNDAY, JUNE 15, 1952 The usual rising Mass at 7:30, good breakfast - usual prayers, conferences & meditation. Question box took so long in the P.M. at 3:00 conference that they didn't have the 5:00 meditation out doors in fresh air until supper -Miss Madden told Father W about our family & he mentioned it in his sermon, everything grand.
MONDAY, JUNE 16, 1952 Usual conferences etc in a.m. - tried to get all my prayers said & Stations made besides. Retreat over at noon - very good dinner and program & visiting with our table mates, visiting until 2:OO.P.M. from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Holy Hour - all over then & we finished packing, talked to Verna over phone - left Marycrest at 3:45 home between 5:00 & 6:00 P.M. found out Dad & Moe had made the retreat too - Gert & Nick & Jimmy here for a while.
TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 1952 Got up early - picked cherries before going to Mass - after breakfast wondered what to do - Lillian came over we decided to pick the peas - she helped me make 4 cherry pies for dinner - Joann & the children walked over. We picked peas & got 43 pt put in deep freeze - Bens stayed for supper - Ben, Joann & Dad picked cherries in eve - Dad mowed hay & got done.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 1952 We went to Mass - then Dad finished picking the cherries. I pitted them all & put up 10 qts. in the deep freeze - Dad went downtown & met Ben - and Ben got another 1991 Chevy.
THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 1952 To Mass and after breakfast my big washing, had 12 batches of clothes & did them in 2 different washes 6 batches to a wash. Dad went down at noon to help Ben get his car business all done up - baler came at noon & got all the baling done this P.M. - Paul, Ben, Len & Gene hauled in bales until dark - then we had ice cream - didn't get to Novena.
FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 1952 Up early - Dad & Len & Gene got the rest of the bales of hay in before it rained. Pot & I picked peas & podded some -got Genes breakfast & lunch up - got Lens breakfast up - as he went to Mass for the Feast of the Sacred Heart - it rained in a.m. - but we got out & picked the peas after dinner. Lillian, Joann Dad Pitt & I. Eds came late in the P.M. so Mary & the boys helped finish, got 52 pts put in deep freeze before supper, big supper, all of Eds & Pauls here - Rained all eve up into the night - I went to baby shower for Dorothy Mercer Peterson at Mrs. Wards - Pat separated & fed calves.
SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 1952 We went to Mass as usual - had a long hard day, lots of hard work and the ironing to finish - Bens were here for dinner -went to show in eve - Maurice came home as usual - Pat & Gene went to confession & to a show -
SUNDAY, JUNE 22, 1952 Maurice & Leonard went to 6:00 Mass & Dad & I to 7:30, Pat & Gene to 9:00, Bens to 10:15. We had a good dinner -commemorating the Feast of the Sacred Heart - In the P.M. Dad & I went to W. Liberty to pay for the Perpetual Care of the Milder parents grave lot $100 from Aunt Anna, $75 from Frances $75 from us, then went to Nichols to see Aunt Anna - she wasn't home, then we visited Alberta for about an hour - Geralds here when we got home - Wilmas came in eve -
MONDAY, JUNE 23, 1952 Up early, wrote to Bro. John, got some clothes ready for washing, then went to Mass - very busy, got about all the washing done before noon and clothes hung out - it was pretty hot but got some hoeing done - In the eve Ben, Joann, Kenny, Mickey, Ronny Tommy Dad A I hoed potatoes at Mullherins - then after that Dad & I went & helped with the peas over at Pauls until about 10:25 very tired.
TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 1952 Up early as usual - rain in morning, but decided to do the peas. Lillian & family came over - & Dad went after Joann & family - Pat came home at noon so we all worked awfully hard & got done - Ben came after Joann, she had to go home -Pauls stayed for supper - Lillian helped until we got them all in boxes - had 50 pt - I put on the rubbers, Dad marked them & put in deep freeze. I washed all dishes & 4 pans, done about 10:00 P.M. Y0.-t & Gene went skating.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25, 1952 Up early and worked around here - before Mass - after breakfast Dad & I went hoeing - hoed hard all forenoon - In the P.M. Dad went to a sale - I worked in the house, doing dishes, separation, and mopped floors - Had a Avon products agent - In the eve Dad & I set out plants - Bens came over for baths & see the fight, Sugar Ray wasn't on television.
THURSDAY, JUNE 26, 1952 Up early, we went out & watered plants as it didn't rain as predicted - worked in garden after Mass, after breakfast until about noon, went out again in P.M. until we had a shower. We set out our late cabbage - Dad & I went to Novena - Pat went to dance with Glen - Gene didn't get home until 8:20 from work - Pauls & Lyles here in eve.
FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 1952 I wrote letter to Aunt Minnie before Mass - after Mass & breakfast started ironing before 9:00, got along pretty good - finished in P.M. Eds came up & left the children here while they went downtown - then they stayed for supper & helped shell peas for Lillian & Bernice - up late watching -I have bad cold & cough - Pat very hoarse & coughing too -
SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 1952 We went to Mass, I had a busy day just cleaning etc - made 2 cakes - Bens canned their beans - then went downtown in the P.M. - left the children here and stayed for supper - went to show in eve - and left Stevie here - Dad & I went down to confession - Moe came home.
SUNDAY, JUNE 29, 1952 Dad & I & Maurice went to 7:30 Mass - Len to six, Pat & Gene at nine - a real nice day - but very hot - it was just 3:30 P.M. when I got the work done up - Pat & Gene went to Lake McBride - then home for dinner - Bens here different times in day & then again for the eve - Pauls over in the eve -Gertrude, Nick Jimmy & Chuck here for supper - We kept Jimmy, they went to a show.
MONDAY, JUNE 30, 1952 We went to Mass - took the cream - went out hoeing right after breakfast and hoed most of the day when it was fit -from 3 to 5:00 in P.M. - helped Pauls dress 8 hens in eve. Dad laid the corn by - helped hoe some - Bens here in eve -for a little while - left the children while they went downtown. Dad worked on my new clothes line -
